Steven was an accomplished peace officer of nearly 30 years. He began his career in law enforcement in Bastrop, Texas, and later served with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and the Tom Green County District Attorney's Office.

He was a dedicated family man who married his teenage sweetheart, and together they had one child. 

Steven lost his life in the line-of-duty on November 13, 2022. This Memorial 5K is  to honor the service and sacrifice of this fallen hero.
